Why Is It So Uncool To Be A Republican?

Coulter cut for Perez?

"We are just not interested in anyone so highly critical of President-elect Obama, right now," a TODAY insider reveals. "It's such a downer. It's just not the time, and it's not what our audience wants, either."

Wondering how the opinion of the nation would have changed had the media showed such sensitivity to George Bush?

Coulter's new book, "Guilty", is aimed at uncovering all of the media bias against the Republicans. I do think she's a lunatic on several levels, but this new one might be worth reading.

I really, really dislike that woman as you know but she's not overly critical of Obama in her book. She likes his cabinet choices.

My question is why is it so "cool" to be a Democrat? It's almost like it's trendy. I don't get it. We had this same discussion at dinner with Ryan's parents the other night. This girl was born and raised republican and proud of it!

Also, bringing up Ann Coulter and why it's uncool to be a Republican is like answering your own question though, isn't it? Need to be more prominent sane Republicans to make it more appealing. Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and Bill "I'm a Libertarian" O'Reilly aren't really good PR for the party.

Sean Hannity? Super cool. But, I agree, Shannon. We're not well represented.

Celebrities, by definition, are not conservative, so we don't have a lot of options in the public eye.

Maybe I should take this show on the road and represent?

:)

And, yes, Allison...totally agree. It's trendy to vote Democrat. We're a dying breed.

We are a dying breed. But I have to admit that as crazy as that bitch is, she's nothing if not a little bit entertaining. The firm I worked for in DC booked her radio/tv shows for some of her book publicity in 2000-2001 - met her a few times and as shocking as it may seem, she's actually quite nice. But I say screw NBC - they're such liberal propaganda anyway, it shouldn't be a shock that they got rid of her.

I was raised Republican (my parents dressed me up as a bag of Reagan's jelly beans for Halloween 1980...enough said), and I voted Democrat for the first time in my life this year...not because it was trendy and cool to do so, but because I actually took time to review issues and think about what was important to ME! It took a lot of soul searching to do so (I served as secretary of the College Republicans at SMU and worked on Bush's campaign for governor...they will probably be revoking my diploma soon). I respect everyone's decision of which party to identify themselves with as long as they have reasons for doing so!

Look at all these girls who know the issues!

Makes me proud, regardless if you vote Republican or Democrat.

As Shannon says, "Smart girls rule!"

Trends come and go, but my beliefs remain firm and I am a Republican all the way. I think it is funny you posted this today as I found this article on Foxnews.com; it reveals how biased the media and Hollywood are: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,476165,00.html

As far as a dying breed - I think there are many in my age group (mid thirties) who are strong Republican women ... and men too! Hopefully more of them will be in the spotlight the upcoming elections and will push through the issues that matter to us.

Love Sean Hannity! I'll join your team if you take your show on the road!

No one should get their news from any of the big news organizations....MSNBC, FOX, CNN...they are all biased! Good way to sift through the facts is to go to fair.org. Funny that there was an article on Fox news about media bias! Read this....http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=1067

Trendy! Yes, definitely trendy. Perfect analysis there. Whether you love or dislike Obama no one can argue with that.

Shannon has another republican friend...me! I was so fired up during the election season over the media and the role they played in this election. I have several posts on my blog under the tag politics if you are interested. I don't always approach things from an intellectual side, more from an emotional side.
