Smarter Than We Think

As mentioned before, Jack has been transitioning to his big boy bed from the crib all week. We started Sunday night and each night has been a little different. Some, he wakes up to 5 times. Once, he slept the entire night. Another, just a couple of times up.

Blake has been out of town all week, so I've been the one to escort Jack back to his bed, tuck him in and return to mine. Last night was his first back since we started, so as he always does with such kindness, he let me sleep and took over duty.

By coincidence or consequently, Jack was up all night. I woke at 6am to run (not a habit of mine, but I did it, so I had to throw that in) and found them in the big chair watching cartoons, Blake snoozing away. Upon asking, he reported that Jack had been up every 5 minutes for a couple of hours straight, so he finally threw in the towel and took him downstairs to watch TV. This gives Blake the chance to sleep and Jack does, too, but it sets us back in this battle of transitioning.

The moral of the story is:

DADS ARE SUCKERS AND KIDS ARE PRIVY TO THIS.
