Question Of The Week
Ignore the fact that we're expecting freezing rain, snow and super low temps this week. It's spring time! Well, it felt like it today and we're certainly changing our clothes to reflect the season, even if it's with accessories only.
This time of year, I put up most of my sweaters and heavy clothes and opt instead for tees and cardigans with pants or skirts when possible. And, because we layer 9 months out of the year here, I have lots of bright colors and a few argyle prints thrown in because I'm crazy like that, but otherwise, my wardrobe consists of lots of solid basics.
I love a big necklace to break up the monotony....or a cute pin like the one pictured above. It's still available on Etsy (link here), benefiting Cora Paige's playground. Coco sent me one like it and I've already worn it twice. Just a bit of color or design to show some sign of spring when the temperatures read otherwise.
I even bought Lainey this sweet brooch after she showed such an interest in my pins. And, if I can figure out how to do it, I might just borrow it from her!
Fell in love with and bought this necklace, which brings out my inner old-lady and matches my love of birds.
So, on to the business at hand....
***What is the first item you look forward to wearing in warmer weather? Other ideas for showing hints of spring in colder temps?

When the temp gets above 70, out come my flip flops! I've got TONS and I'm an open-toed kind of girl. I wish the Oklahoma weather will make up its mind if it wants to be cold or warm. I'm soooo ready for summer!
P.S. I'm not crafty at all and I'm just down right jealous of all the craftiness on here. I don't like it one bit.
Sandals and flip flops for me too.
The one thing I dread is wearing shorts. I hate wearing shorts!
well it sure as hell ISN'T a bathing suit!!!! i am a pretty basic and boring gal-t'shirts and crops usually in the spring and long sleeve t's and jeans in the winter. i try to wear less black in the spring/summer....so instead i wear white. told you i was boring. (i'm really not that bad-i do own a few colors).
but the way i welcome spring (warm or not) is with a great bright toe nail polish!!!
Spring/summer to me means skirts, sun-dresses, anything strapless, tube tops, capirs and flip flops!
Summer/spring clothing is my favorite because it's so much more colorful and easy. I am a spaghetti strap tank, shorts, and flip-flop kind of girl...Love this time of year! Whatever is easy and quick to put on.
Sundresses and flip flops.
Flip flop and open toed shoes. Love getting pedicures during the summer. Got my first one a few weeks ago. I just changed out my closets this weekend. Happy to see all the fun colors.
Flip flops, cute sandals and hot pink toes. I'm hoping to find some time this week for my welcome to spring pink pedicure! So ready for HOT sweaty weather. This Florida girl misses the humidity.
sun dresses! Love wearing sun dresses and flips! Just pulled them all out for the summer this weekend!
flip flops are the best! I'm kind of addicted to buying swim suits too. They scream beach and pool weather and I love that! I have a feeling we'll be out back in the pool almost everyday this year with Luke being older.
Cuteness and COMFORT is the key for me. Flip flops are a must. Flowy, cotton skirts with the graphic tees are a must. I usually wear the same skirts and just alternate the tees. I've got the FEVA so badly...spring that is!
I look forward to a spray tan and pedicure complete with bright coral colored polish! I also love to break out my open-toed wedges...wearing some today :)
Bathing suits--JUST KIDDING!!! I love sundresses and flip flops. . . also fun necklaces with a plain old sundress!
Flip flops and tanks! I like to flash to summer as fast as possible.
You mentioned you have a love of birds. Are you a Vera Bradley fan? Have you seen their yellow birds print? http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?colorid=2&sku=10449%3a2
Somehow I missed this question, and it is dear to my heart. Definitley NOT a bathing suit and definitley not shorts, BUT bring on the 20+ pairs of sandals, flipflops, and cork bottom wedge shoes. I have like 5 pairs of winter shoes and many, many fun spring/summer shoes. I actually plan my outfits around my fun summery shoes! And, yes, the toenail polish... Cajun Shrimp from OPI! All of this brings good feelings to this overworked teacher... summer is COMING!!
