First Pool Day

Summer is here and we're getting in the groove, despite it being my least favorite season. Children love it, so I will for them!

Walked to the pool with the 3 kids plus 2 of Carter's friends.

Debut of the new suit. It cost more than all of mine put together. Totally worth it. It has a tutu built in, people!

Jack enjoyed the pool at first.

Then, his quirky personality took over and he became hysterical because there were leaves in the pool. "LEAVES!!!!! GET IT, DADDY!!!!!!" Oh, this sweet child of mine keeps me guessing. Blake must have cleaned out the filter 10 times in an effort to retrieve more leaves. We're thrilled to know he has a passion for his future career as a pool cleaner (obviously), but do believe he's starting a bit young.

He's pictured with a ziploc bag above for a reason. After working diligently to fish out leaves and make a neat pile of them on the side of the pool, little Lainey would come behind him, pick them up and throw them in the water.

Then, she'd stand there with her angel baby face and say, "Oh, no, Schjack! Sa-wee!" Such a little stinker!

The two of them cleaning out the filter...isn't this every child's dream for summer fun?

And, that completes our first trip to the pool. Lainey touched the water only by lying on her belly and putting the tips of her fingers in. Jack spent most of his time skimming the surface for leaves. Carter was unseen.....off with friends and had a grand time. Thrilled for him....he couldn't love the season more. Jack and Lainey? I have a feeling they will make this our most challenging summer yet.

My mind fogs up just thinking about how he'll clean the beach in California. Seaweed! Ocean debris! Shells! Sand!

Note to self: make appointment to request anti-anxiety meds. Lots of them!

ah, summer-not a fan either, but the kids love it huh? i like that the pool had a 1 foot area-that's a safe area for the little ones to play. and dont bother with the meds....they dont work. Put some new tunes on your ipod, put your earphones on, and turn it up. then just smile, nod, and throw out the occasional "yeah"!!!

We went to the pool yesterday and Tessie Mayes wouldn't get in either. She just would walk to each chair, sit, get down, and move on to the next. What the hell. It isn't what I had in mind at all.

Bram swam with Adam the whole time while I followed behind the baby. They really will be a great match.

The suit is so cute it makes me want to vomit.

yes, cute suit indeed!
As for Jack wanting to clean the ocean...stock up on beach toys and they'll be just fine.
As for summer.. I'm indifferent. Fall is by far by favorite!

Maybe Lainey didn't want to get her beautiful suit wet! Bia is the same way - barely gets in our pool. CC on the other hand is a total fish and could stay in the pool for hours!

I could seriously eat-up Lainey in that swimsuit! I love that Jack is cleaning the pool. Are you still coming out at the end of July?

that suit is ridiculously cute! We're enduring swim lessons this week - my child is the screamer who refuses to float on her back! Summer = good times!
