Late December back in '63.....what a very special time for me.....as I remember, what a night!
OK, sorry.....back with you now. We did have the perfect summer night on Friday and I'm thrilled to share it with you! We'll be back for sure.
The city of Olathe has a free concert series....we went to hear The Elders, an Irish funk band. The setting was gorgeous, the weather was lovely, the people were friendly and fun. How could this get better?
Fire truck.....never can go to a city function without one there. Kids love them!
Lainey lives part of each day in this stroller.....so, why did she choose to sit in it for half the evening? Your guess is as good as mine. No complaints....she stayed in one place!
The boys had to roam....as boys do. Jack harassed this poor kid until he handed over the bubble gun. Carter got in on a football game.
There was dancing....
The usual condescending looks from Lainey....
Hugs for Daddy....
And, a whole lot of laughs. Happy kids make me happy.
Oh, sweetness. There it is again.
Flowers were picked.
And, shared again.
Kids drank too much soda. Jack is always first in line to claim his share.
Frank. The. Tank. comes to mind. See the last picture for further proof.
Notice the bag, Brit? We still love it!
This picture sums up our kids, the season, the chaos, the fun.....life is good.
If every night could be this lovely, I might just change my attitude about this time of year.
