Pumpkin Decorations

A very simple thing to do and it adds so much....place mini-pumpkins in your potted plants. I learned this from Martha years ago. She lines the perimeter of a pot with about 10 of them and then plants mums in the middle. I've done this before and it's really cute. Just didn't have enough pumpkins at the store when I started these.

Occasionally, the pumpkins will get soggy or rot from the watering. I replace them at that point. Mums are very inexpensive and the pumpkins typically are, too, at Walmart or Farmer's Markets.

I love the colors of fall, so I take advantage of this simple trick each year. Pictured below are the plants on our front porch.....some left over from summer....to which I added our mums.
