Ski Season

Arapahoe Basin opens its doors tomorrow for early season skiing!

We've only skied there once since living in Colorado, because most of our time has been spent at Beaver Creek and Breckenridge. But, we're anxious to get in as much skiing as possible before we move.

Planning a weekend trip in a couple of weeks. We simply cannot wait. Jack learns this year. Now, who wants to join us for the first run with an almost 2 1/2 year old?

The following shots were taken on October 13. Here is the view from Loveland Pass.

Although A Basin starts and ends the season with the most snow due to how the mountain is positioned, the majority of what is out there now is man-made. A shot of the snow machine:

There are several options for skiing in the Midwest and actually one about an hour from Kansas City. Certainly nothing like Colorado....but then again, what is like Colorado? No fair to compare the two.

We'll stay active and keep the kids learning and practicing.....then our trips here won't be so crazy.

You will be looking precious in your ski gear in two weeks. I bet.
